On the Data Platform Team, we build the tools, applications, and infrastructure to make Milwaukee Tool the leader in providing jobsite insights and increased productivity to our end-users. Your Role on Our Team
As the Lead Data Engineer, your role is to help drive and deliver innovative data products which will allow Milwaukee Tool to leverage Speed, Agility, and Urgency when making data-driven decisions. Working closely with the business and other Data Platform Team members, you will design, develop, and support the foundational systems of our data platform. This involves leveraging best practices and emerging technologies to create data processing pipelines, self-service analytical tools, and the governance components necessary to support our customer and team data needs. You will also gain expertise in understanding the data under management and aid in supporting and performing advanced analytical processes, such as machine learning. A successful candidate will have a passion for learning and experimentation and desire to share their knowledge with others for the better of our customers.

- Get in on the ground floor and help set standards for how the Data Mart team will provide Data as a product.
- Partner with the business to create and maintain a roadmap, define tradeoffs, and take ownership of business solutions.
- Collaborate with the business and Data Platform team to provide innovative data solutions
- Move with speed, agility, and urgency to meet the business data needs while also focusing on long-term proactive and innovative solutions.
- Leverage your expertise within the software development lifecycle, continuous improvement, and best practices to help drive the team towards rapid success.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience.
- 8 or more years of professional development experience.
Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:
- Requires strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Highly skilled in designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems.
- Experience in analyzing existing data structures.
- Demonstrated expertise in SQL, data access, data modeling, ETL development, PowerBI, and data storage.
- Experience leading and mentoring others.
- Highly Skilled in Azure or other cloud development environments.
- Highly Skilled working with Azure tools like Synapse, DevOps, Data Factory, Databricks, and other cloud data tools.
- Skilled in at multiple modern programing language like Python, R, Scala, C#, Java.
- Experience designing and working with distributed and event architectures.
- Skilled in Spark, Jupyter, Hadoop, NoSQL.
- Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and others.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Terraform.
- A self-starter who loves learning and teaching others.
- Skilled with advanced analytics and machine-learning techniques.
- Experience defining and driving a technical strategy.
