Our Product Marketing Team is responsible for working directly with users and engineering teams to grow products and product lines through the administration and coordination of a variety of marketing functions and projects; all while maintaining a cooperative relationship with internal and external stakeholders. Our team works directly with end users through interviews, job site visits and field testing, allowing us to understand the work they do day-in and day-out so we can make solutions that help them stay safe and productive. We research, develop, and commercialize disruptive new products to meet company growth goals by participating and interacting with various cross functional teams and departments, owning a product from cradle to grave.

Your Role on Our Team
Under the direction of and reporting to a Director or VP of Product Development, the Group Product Manager's primary duties will be to plan, grow, and manage both sales and profitability for the assigned product category. Coach, develop and motivate direct reports and positively influence cross functional teams to meet challenging projects and business objectives.
You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
- Lead the initial stages in the development of new products including primary and secondary market research, engineering & manufacturing analysis, global logistics, purchasing and related financial aspects involved in successfully bringing new products to market.
- Actively monitor the new product development process in all phases to ensure customer input throughout. Represent the category at key management choice points within the process.
- Initiate and develop market research plans. Review the process and methodology to ensure appropriateness of the research based on the project scope. Perform end user interviews, job site visits and field testing. Provide customer input throughout the new product development process. study and interpret findings and report to senior management.
- Manage and prioritize new product development activities for assigned product categories to ensure fit with product strategy and overall company goals. Develop a tactical schedule for the completion of key new product development efforts and works to secure the marketing resources necessary to complete these tasks on time.
- Guide a team of direct reports, defining the strategy and product plan development for assigned product categories. Delegate elements of the strategy and product plan to direct reports and push them to present and defend findings and recommendations.
- Act as an individual contributor when developing framework of strategic initiatives and business reporting.
- Proactively manage the portfolio of products within the category(s). Implement and monitor strategies including product positioning, forecasting, cost reductions, product updates and/or obsolescence.
- Develop commercial launch programs including product sell sheets, bulletins, product specific merchandising, web site copy, interactive training video and other sales support materials as needed.
- Collaborate with brand and channel management to develop appropriate programs and promotions to achieve a successful new product launch and overall category growth.
- Provide sales training as appropriate to effectively convey new product features and benefits.
- Act as an expert in product knowledge, end-user applications, and the competitive marketplace for assigned product category(s). Vigorously seek opportunities to stay abreast of the marketplace by attending trade shows, seminars, and other industry events.
- Frequently interact with distributors, field sales and end-users to seek opportunities for new products, packaging, merchandising and their successful placement within channels of distribution.
- Work to involve direct reports, sales, training, and other cross functional groups in learning activities.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related area and 8 or more years of experience in a product management role.
Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:
- Experience managing complex trade-offs through new product development.
- Experience managing projects through a stage-gate process.
- Ability to define and drive platform level design requirements based on end user needs.
- Experience with lithium-ion battery and electrical systems.
- Experience conducting end user and distribution research.
- Accomplished analytic, communication, and interpersonal skills plus demonstrated problem solving and choice-making abilities.
