Your Role on Our Team

As the Lead Data Engineer, your role is to help drive and deliver innovative data products which will allow Milwaukee Tool to leverage Speed, Agility, and Urgency when making data-driven decisions. Working closely with the business and other Data Platform Team members, you will design, develop, and support the foundational systems of our data platform. This involves leveraging best practices and emerging technologies to create data processing pipelines, self-service analytical tools, and the governance components necessary to support our customer and team data needs. You will also gain expertise in understanding the data under management and aid in supporting and performing advanced analytical processes, such as machine learning. A successful candidate will have a passion for learning and experimentation and desire to share their knowledge with others for the better of our customers.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

• Working with Business stakeholders to understand analytical needs and translate them into technical data requirements and designs.
• Work closely with data engineers and data architects to design & build data pipelines for the Enterprise Data Warehouse environment
• Demonstrate attention to detail, organization, and work to drive projects to completion in accordance with established priorities.
• Leverage the Data Engineering team to move quickly to build solutions while maintaining a high level of quality & agility.
• Leverage your expertise within the software development lifecycle, continuous improvement, and best practices to help drive the team towards rapid success.
• Highly motivated and creative problem solver; able to self-initiate and thrive in a results-oriented environment
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant experience.
• 8 or more years of professional experience in the enterprise data management space.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

• Requires strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in cloud infrastructure & data processing preferably on Microsoft Azure.
• Highly skilled in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines.
• Skilled working with Azure data components like ADLS, ADF, Databricks, Synapse, DevOps etc
• Skilled at modern programing language like Python/Spark in the data transformation context.
• Proficient in SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions
• Demonstrated expertise in RDBMS, data modeling, ETL development, and data storage.
• Experience designing and working with distributed and event architectures.
• Experience leading and mentoring others.
• Skilled with advanced analytics and machine-learning techniques.
• Experience with data governance & Metadata management tools.
