Reporting the Power Tools Lead Quality / Reliability, the Senior Quality Engineer's primary duty is working with minimal supervision to ensure product reaching end-users maintains Milwaukee's superior quality reputation. This includes detailed hands-on investigation of units returned from the field and identifying risk mitigation opportunities within electronic systems. The fast-paced environment allows the opportunity to implement new, innovative solutions both within the engineering teams and company-wide. As part of working for Milwaukee Tool, you will assist in the launch of many new, exciting products which deliver unique solutions to our end-users.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead root cause analysis activities related to electronics from platorm, systems and component levels.
- Lead collection and analysis of field data. Identify expanded opportunities in data collection and analysis.
- Help manage and create corrective action plans used in the electrical / electronic to ensure timely root cause identification and effective corrective/preventive action.
- Apply statistical methods such as gauge R & R, design of experiments and statistical process control to quality related issues.
- Participate in process and quality system audits to ensure compliance to specifications and documented procedures.
- Maintain a current knowledge of:
- The latest electronic test and simulation equipment and techniques
- Ocilloscopes, frequency analyzers, function generators, etc.
- The latest electronic and PCBA design standards including IPC and ESD mitigation
- Statistical process control and AQL sampling methodologies
- The structure and workings of the Milwaukee Quality Management System and all certifying agency requirements
- The latest electronic test and simulation equipment and techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or educational / experience equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in electronic root cause analysis and failure investigations
- Working knowledge of applicable programming languages / software a plus (C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink)
- Written and verbal communication skills and creative problem-solving capabilities
- Previous relevant experience with Design of Experiments, life data analysis, and other related statistical tools and software (i.e. Minitab, Reliasoft, JMP) a plus
- Ability to travel 10-20% of the time is required (travel includes Domestic and International)
- Experience and knowledge using power tools is preferred
