INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER - 1ST SHIFT - 24835
Olive Branch, MSThe Training Designer -- Instructional Design is responsible for planning and analysis, design and structure, SME collaboration, implementation and management of the creation of technology enhanced, contextually-rich, objective-driven classroom, online, mobile, and blended learning experiences and courses that focus on real-world, workplace skills.
- Work with a teams including project managers, media developers and other stakeholders to create training programs, classes, courses, curricula and certification programs from concept to implementation.
- Apply business skills to managing instructional design
- Engage the full instructional design and development cycle to design and develop instructional materials and products for classroom and technology-based courses; and blended delivery formats
- Evaluate product/service technology support requirements and assess content requirements in light of current capabilities/needs to determine delivery feasibility
- Design learning products for classroom, web-based and mobile platforms, including blended delivery formats (eg learning technologies in the classroom, job adis as part of online or mobile based learning, ...)
- Establish instructional design and development standards for all existing and future training materials that support continued quality, speed of delivery, and learning reinforcement
- Perform quality assurance reviews and survey assessments of newly created or updated courses to ensure accuracy, functionality and knowledge transfer
- Present and make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options
- Provide analytical support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, or courseware standards
- Interview subject matter experts or conduct other research to develop instructional content
- Conduct needs assessments and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for curriculum development or to update curricula
- Develop instruction or training roadmaps for online and blended learning programs
- Adapt instructional content or delivery methods for different levels or types of learners
- Research and evaluate emerging instructional technologies or methods
- Provide oral and written status reports, presentations and or meetings to update stakeholders on project status and expectations
- Revise and update current training materials according to system and design changes
- Perform at a high level and remain organized under pressure and tight deadlines
- Set and prioritize goals and achieve them as scheduled and when necessary flex to adjust to rapidly changing requirements and schedules
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in education, instructional design, curriculum, educational technology, or a related degree
- Minimum of three years experience in instructional design
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, active learning design, facilitation, and learner-centered activities
- Ability to provide instructional design consulting services to subject matter experts and stakeholders
- Experience collaborating with teams, SME's and stakeholders to manage expectations
- Experience in learning management systems and building content in authoring software
- Ability to be creative, flexible, and innovative in course design
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills, stakeholder management skills, self-direction, and motivation
- Occasional travel may be required
