PLANNER - BYHALIA, MS - 1ST SHIFT - 24199
Byhalia, MSThe Planner is responsible for overseeing the creation and publication of the production plan. Demand, plant capacity, and material availability are all considered to ensure production start and on-time delivery to our customer. In addition, manages associated raw materials and finished stock requirements, working closely with the Master Scheduler.
Provides input to complex projects and Lean initiatives. Due to the nature of this position, interaction with all departments throughout the organization is common in addition to collaboration with corporate counterparts.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the production plan for late point Kits, Conversions and Quarter Pallet Displays; and the expedition of procurement of their associated raw materials in support of the production plan.
- Develop run strategies based on capacity, labor and raw material availability while considering distribution stocking levels, backorders, and inter-company requirements
- Collaborate with the OB Master Scheduler
- Align and execute priorities
- Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Develop and prepare capacity reports that identify capacity requirements and constraints by production area (Kitting & QP)
- Develop a projected manning plan for each production area to meet daily run rates and schedule
- Continuously monitor the production plan to ensure internal and external material availability, reconciling any known disruptions ahead of the production start date, working with the Sourcing Analyst
- Lead and administer inventory initiatives and implement best practices
- Maintain proper inventory levels by recommending and preserving safety stock for raw materials (Min / Max)
- Assist in achieving inventory turnover goals
- Develop production run strategies and WIP buffer inventory
- Evaluate safety stock for WIP and raw materials
- Collaborate with suppliers on Kanban, VMI, Vending, and Consigned Inventory
- Collaborate with Operations on Kanban, visual management and replenishment
- Supporty and user for ERP System and all Supply Chain Processes
- Research and implement supply chain best practice while leveraging our ERP system
- Teach fellow team members defined system processes
- Engage with Corporate Supply Chain and OB Master Scheduler to understand Galt and other related practices
- Personal development to include continuously updating skills related to Lean and Supply Chain best practices
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in a business related field and a minimum of 1-2 years Supply Chain experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, and Outlook)
- Demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills required
- Strong organizational skills and a stellar attention to detail are essential
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient math skills including adding, subtracting, multiply, and dividing decimals
- Working knowledge of Lean, CSCP, or APICS certification preferred
