The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production systems and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the business goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the facilities equipment
- Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic to troubleshoot and repair production machines
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawing and work directly with outside vendors to maintain and repair production equipment
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments as required
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilitates
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment
- Comply with all company, local, city, state and federal regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Other duties and projects as determined by production and business needs
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- High School Diploma / GED required and a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience required including strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with PLC and HVAC experience
- Completion of craft apprentice, or an equivalent number of years of experience in a production maintenance environment preferred
- Fork and lift truck certification, overhead crane, understanding of PLC programming preferred
- Established ability to identify and communicate issues and offer proposed solutions
- Excellent attention to detail is required
