IT SOFTWARE RELEASE MANAGER - 9831

Your Role on Our Team

The Release Manager will collaborate with project managers, development managers, solution delivery and project teams to coordinate release schedules for strategic projects. In this position, you will oversee a team responsible for the successful release of ERP software solutions. The team will consist of quality analysts and operations analysts supporting Hybris, Dynamics AX and Oracle applications. You will be a key contributor in delivering complex cross-functional projects in Milwaukee Tool's face-paced environment.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Forward plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio.
  • Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates.
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams.
  • Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
  • Produce Deployment, Run Books, and Implementation Plans and coordinate activities.
  • Work with software developers to understand impacts of branches and code merges.
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process.
  • Maintain a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 2 or more years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred).
  • 8 or more years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Formal training in project management practices preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • Solid communicator -- verbal, oral and presentation skills; able to present technical subject matter across a variety of stakeholder levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work in a self-guided manner.
  • Great organization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable operating and delivering in various SDLC methodologies (waterfall, agile).
  • Strong knowledge within the Oracle Applications and Technology -- SaaS (Oracle Software as a Solution) Cloud footprint to coordinate code promotion and versioning.
  • Strong knowledge of JIRA and/or Microsoft DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of ARA tools (Puppet, buildmaster, Visual Studio, Electric Flow eg.).
  • Understanding of CD/CI pipelines.
  • High quality standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle.
