Your Role on Our Team
As a Network Engineer at Milwaukee Tool, you will work in a fast-paced environment to innovate new technologies as a member of a strong and growing team. You will work on current generation, enterprise grade network infrastructure with the tools and resources you need for success. This position will have the ability to extend cross functionally throughout infrastructure, being able to work on systems and projects that extend outside of the core network responsibilities. We have a strong focus on building our skillset through collaboration and training to provide best in class support.
You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
- Provide support for enterprise network systems including but not limited to:
- Juniper, Cisco, and Aruba Wireless Network Infrastructure
- SolarWinds Orion Network Monitoring
- AudioCodes Voice Gateways
- SD-WAN Administration
- Configure and deploy hardware both local and remote.
- Utilize monitoring and performance tools to identify and resolve infrastructure needs.
- Plan for new initiatives and expand the existing network infrastructure.
- Create and maintain network documentation.
- Provide end user support and resolution for network, telephony, and other systems issues.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to storage, compute, cloud, etc.
- Possible travel to assist and support projects at remote locations.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The TOOLS you'll bring with you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or relevant work experience.
- 4or more years of networking experience with proven competencies in TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, DNS, QoS, and LAN/WAN (STP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP); experience with network security functions, including firewall rule management, user role management, network access control, and remote access/VPN access
Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:
- Experience with enterprise-class networking infrastructure in highly available and scalable environments.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Understanding of AAA platforms such as Radius and/or TACACS.
- Self-starter, ability to manage own projects/tasks, ability to build teamwork with globally dispersed team.
- Hands on experience in many of the following: Juniper or Cisco hardware, SolarWinds Orion, F5, Aruba / Cisco Wireless Controllers, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Aruba ClearPass, Telephony/VoIP, RightFax, Riverbed, Wireshark packet captures and analysis, network performance analysis.
- Occasional lifting of equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
- CCNP or JNCIP a plus.
